I’ll also show you some alternatives to this mattress because (spoiler alert) I’m not a big fan of the DreamCloud brand and I’m not sure this mattress is worth the price tag.

Let’s get started!

Overview of Dreamcloud Premier Rest Mattress:

DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress Cross Section

The DreamCloud Premier Rest mattress has been engineered to have a firmness of 6.5, or luxury firm. This feel, combined with the plush feel of the top foam layers, mean it should feel very comfortable to most people.

The Premier Rest mattress is DreamCloud’s tallest (16 inches – you’re gonna need deep pocket sheets for this one), plushest mattress and is the only one with a pillow top. It has a total of 5 inches of comfort foams, 8.5 inches of support coils, and a one inch foam pad that supports the coils.

Let’s take a look at it layer by layer:

1 and 2: We need to look at these together because it’s two components: the Cashmere blend cover (for a soft and moisture wicking surface) that is quilted with the first inch of comfort foam (a high loft memory foam which plays a big part in the plush luxury feel of this mattress)

3. Another inch of soft foam, completing the pillow top layer.

4. This is a 2.5 inch thick layer of contouring memory foam. It’s perfectly placed here, as it allows the two soft foams above to give you a soft feeling through the top, then you sink into this layer to get contouring and pressure relief. This foam is also infused with gel beads, to help draw heat away from your body.

5. This is 2 inches of higher density transition foam. It acts as a buffer to  the support coils below, and allows the softer foams above to give support and comfort without you feeling like the mattress is going to swallow you.

6. 8.5 Inches of individually wrapped pocket coils. This provides more targeted support than a traditional  innerspring unit, and better airflow than a foam base.

7. The entire mattress rests on a high density polyfoam layer that increases the support system of the coils, and improves their durability.

Analysis Of Features:

I think the design of this mattress is going to make it feel really nice when you first lie on it. I like the idea of the two soft foams followed by the memory foam, I think that’s going to be a really plush and luxury feel, just as promised. However, for the price tag, there are a few things lacking in my opinion:

  • I like the gel infusion in the memory foam layer and the cashmere blend cover, but I’d have preferred more reassurance there are some cooling properties to the first two foam layers…what’s to stop heat getting trapped in the top of the mattress?
  • I’d have liked to see zoning in the pocket coils for this price. After all, if you’re paying luxury prices, I’d have thought this would be a given.
  • It’s great there’s a high density foam pad protecting the coils, but I’d have liked to see foam around the sides of the mattress too.

So even though this is going to be a really comfortable mattress that I think will feel nice, you’re starting to see why it’s not my favorite as I’m just not convinced the value for money is there.

Pros and Cons:

Pros
  • Industry leading 365 night sleep trial and lifetime warranty
  • Luxurious cashmere blend cover
  • Generous 5 inches of comfort foams
  • Hybrid design offers better air flow than all-foam mattresses
  • DreamCloud run  discounts and offer free items with your purchase
Cons
  • Priciest of the DreamCloud range
  • I expect more luxury touches at this price point
  • DreamCloud don't rate well for customer service

Top 3 Alternatives To DreamCloud

Since I’ve told you in this DreamCloud Premier Rest mattress review that it’s not my favorite mattress for your money and that I have concerns about DreamCloud’s customer service, you need to know about some mattresses that I think are better buys. Here are the 3 best alternatives to the Dreamcloud Premier Rest mattress.

1. Puffy Royal Mattress:

puffy-Royal-hybrid
  • Made in the USA
  • Also has a lifetime warranty
  • Offers better discounts than DreamCloud
  • I think the foams are better quality and have more cooling properties, like air channels and more infusions
  • Like DreamCloud, the support coils are not zoned but there is zoning in one of the foam layers for more targeted support

The Puffy Royal mattress is the best model manufactured by very popular brand Puffy. Similar to DreamCloud, Puffy make three mattresses and the Royal is their premier model.

I think that overall, Puffy offers you more features for your money, has better customer service, and is just a nicer mattress in general.

If you’re going to pay for a luxury mattress, then Puffy Royal certainly ticks more boxes from my perspective than the DreamCloud Premiere Rest.

2. Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress:

Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress
  • Made in the USA
  • Has zoned lumbar support
  • Is at a lower price point than other “luxury” mattresses
  • Like Puffy, I think the foams are better quality and have more cooling properties than DreamCloud
  • The support coils have firmer coils around the edge of the mattress for durability and edge support

Helix offer mattresses for every sleeper (soft, medium, firm, regular or luxury) and their Midnight Luxe is the absolute standout of their range for me.

Offering you loads of features at an extremely reasonable price point, the Helix Luxe range is hard to skip over. The reason I’m sharing the Midnight Luxe with you as their top DreamCloud alternative is that it’s engineered for a medium feel and is going ot be the most universally comfortable.

3. Brooklyn Aurora Mattress:

  • Made in the USA
  • Specifically designed for cooling (with specialized fabrics and foams)
  • Lower price than DreamCloud
  • You choose which firmness you’d like (soft, medium, or firm)
  • The support coils are zoned

Like Helix above, Brooklyn Bedding offer a big range of mattresses but the Brooklyn Aurora is the feature packed stand out, which is why I’m recommending it to you.

It is constructed with comfort layers of Energex polyfoam with phase change material and copper. It also contains Brooklyn Bedding’s TitanFlex polyfoam, which is engineered to be high density and durable.

DreamCloud Premier Rest Mattress Review Final Words:

Yes, the DreamCloud Premier Rest mattress will be really comfy and I have no doubt that if you did buy it, you could sleep happily on it for years to come.

BUT, it’s not my top choice when it comes to luxury mattresses, I simply think there are other options out there offering you better value for money and I would personally buy one of those instead.
