Best Memory Foam Mattress Amazon Overview
My top ten best memory foam mattresses for 2022 on Amazon are:
1. Top Choice: Snuggle Pedic Memory Foam Mattress
Snuggle Pedic is a range of bedding (mattresses, toppers, pillows, bedding) manufactured and sold by Relief Mart, a company that specializes pain relief products, which bodes really well for them making a top quality mattress designed with your comfort in mind. They debuted the Snuggle-Pedic mattress in 2015.
The standout feature of this mattress is that it is fully customizable for you. If you’re not happy with the firmness, Snuggle Pedic will adjust it for free, at any point during your generous 120 night sleep trial (the longest I found on Amazon)
- Sizes available: Full, Queen, King, California King
- Feel: Firm (comfort adjustments available)
- Composition: Two internal foam layers: the top layer is Snuggle-Flex memory foam designed to be the softer, cushioning layer. The bottom layer is made of firmer foam to act as your support. The removable outer cover is made from 43% viscose of bamboo, 56.4% polyester and 0.6% lycra
- CertiPur-US certified: Yes
- Warranty: 20 years
- Trial period: 4 months
- Special features: Snuggle-Pedic can customize the mattress exactly for you at their US based factory
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes
Pros
- Long warranty and trial
- Made in USA
- Fully customizable
Cons
- Higher Price Point
- May be too firm for some (but this can be customized)
My Opinion
The Snuggle-Pedic mattress has some outstanding features in its long trial and warranty, and customizations based in the USA. These are the features that bump the price up but I truly think you are really getting excellent quality and value for your money with this one. People who have dealt with Snuggle-Pedic for customizations or returns rave about their service. Even people who ended up disliking the mattress couldn’t help but comment on how great it is!
I really found it hard to find anything truly negative about this mattress. There are absolutely no concerns I feel you need to worry about. Therefore, I can happily recommend the Snuggle-Pedic as an excellent buy if you are looking for a firm mattress. Even if you want to try it but are concerned about the firmness, it would be worth a go, as Snuggle-Pedic can help you make it softer if you need to later (they will probably send you a mattress topper for free).
2. My Second Pick: Tuft And Needle Original Memory Foam Mattress
Tuft and Needle’s marketing line is that their mattresses are “loved by over one million people” and it’s easy to see why. With a budget friendly price point, 100 night sleep trial and no fiberglass in the fire barrier (at the time of writing), it’s an extremely popular option for people looking for a mattress on Amazon with all the features and none of the big price tags.
Rated a medium firm and with cooling gel and antimicrobial properties, it’s an easy choice for one of my top recommendations.
- Sizes available: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, California King
- Feel: Medium
- Composition: Plush cover, comfort layer of gel and graphite infused memory foam, high density foam core
- CertiPur-US Certified: Yes, CertiPur-US and Greenguard Gold certified
- Warranty: 10 Years
- Trial period: Yes, 100 nights
- Special features: The sleep trial, the graphite infusion
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes
Pros
- 100 Night sleep trial
- Gel and graphite infusion
- No fiberglass in the fire barrier
Cons
- Some people were not happy with its durability
My Opinion
I think that overall you get good value for money here with Tuft and Needle. It’s extremely rare to get a 100 night sleep trial on Amazon, and apart from the Snuggle Pedic mattress above, it’s equally rare to find a mattress without fiberglass in the fire barrier (many people buy it for this reason alone).
This is a nice mattress at a price point that won’t break the bank.
3. Sweetnight 10 Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress- the quiet high achiever
Sweetnight is a Chinese Company established in 2008. The company headquarters and manufacturing arm are both in China but they have a warehouse in Texas, from which they base their United States shipping. Sweetnight specializes in producing beds, and produces a range of memory foam and hybrid mattresses.
The Sweetnight memory foam mattress is a popular and well loved mattress option so I had to include it.
- Sizes available: Twin, Full, Queen, King
- Feel: Medium firm
- Composition: This mattress is made up of three different foams. The top layer is 2 inches of gel foam, intended to help you sleep cool. The middle layer is a three zoned memory foam: it has a firmer feel through the middle of the layer intended to support and align your body. The bottom layer is a high density support foam. The cover is made of rayon cotton.
- CertiPur-US Certified: Yes
- Warranty: 10 years
- Trial period: 30 days
- Special features: You can sleep on either side of this mattress. Place the gel foam side facing up for a more cushioning feel, or the higher density foam side for a firmer feel (if you do this, you’ll lose the cooling feature of the gel though).
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes
Pros
- Gel foam
- Responsive customer service
- Can flip to customize feel
- Suitable for wide weight range
Cons
- China based company
- Limited sizes available
My opinion
Sweetnight are very responsive with customer service and stand behind their products. The zoned gel in the middle layer of the mattress is yet another interesting innovation in memory foam.
I believe this is a good quality mattress for the price, and it would be a great choice.
This mattress is also available directly from SweetNight, and comes with a 12 inch option if you’re looking for a thicker mattress. At the time of writing, the price was cheaper to buy direct from SweetNight, but Amazon prices are changing all the time so it pays to check both.
4. Signature Sleep Memoir
Signature Sleep is a mattress brand created by Dorel, a large furniture manufacturer. Dorel was formed in Canada in 1987, and expanded their business into the USA not long after in 1988. The goal of the Signature Sleep brand is to bring you mattresses that are “durable and affordable”.
Signature Sleep produce a variety of mattress types, including this popular memory foam mattress.
- Sizes available: Twin, Full, Queen, King
- Feel: Medium firm
- Composition: This mattress is available in a variety of heights and you have the option of memory foam (Memoir) or gel and charcoal infused memory foam (Flex) for a higher price. I have included pictures of both side by side above so you can see exactly what materials are inside. The non-removable cover is made from a breathable knit fabric.
- CertiPur-US certified: Yes
- Warranty: 10 years
- Trial period: not available, but Amazon will allow you to return as per their 30 day policy
- Special features: n/a
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes
Pros
- Choice of thickness and foam materials
- Popular and well rated
- Budget price point
Cons
- No trial
- Mixed opinions on durability
My opinion
I read of people who removed the cover, which exposed the fiberglass fire barrier inside the mattress. Fiberglass is a common fire barrier in memory foam mattresses, but it does cause issues if it gets out of the mattress. These people would have had a much better experience if they had left the cover on as instructed. So if you do purchase this mattress you can save yourself a lot of trouble by keeping the cover on and spot cleaning your mattress.
I’ve also read reports of the mattress sagging or losing its support, and it just seems like too many to put them all down to people using insufficient support bases. There also seem to be a few issues with the mattress not always decompressing properly.
So even though this mattress that is extremely popular, I think this is more to do with its cheap price than it being a good choice of mattress for you to buy. I think you can do better than this one.
5. Live and Sleep Resort Ultra Memory Foam Mattress – free memory foam pillow with purchase
Live and Sleep was founded a few years ago with the vision of making it easy for people to make the move of buying a mattress online instead of in store. They wanted to create a memory foam mattress consumers would feel confident and safe to purchase. They market this mattress as having a “luxury hotel touch”.
- Sizes available: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, Short/RV Queen, King, California King
- Feel: Medium (a bit softer than the other Live and Sleep mattress you can read about a few mattresses down)
- Composition: The top layer is 2.5 inches of open cell memory foam, followed by 1 inch of gel infused foam, with a support layer of 8.5 inch high density foam. The removable and machine washable cover is a soft, woven knit.
- CertiPur-US Certified: Yes
- Warranty: 20 years
- Trial period: 30 nights, but it appears you would get 100 nights if you purchased direct from the Live and Sleep website (but the price of the mattress is approximately $400 more)
- Special features: Free memory foam pillow included
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes
Pros
- Free memory foam pillow
- Long warranty
- Lots of size options
- Cover is removable and machine washable
Cons
- 100 night sleep trial available only if you buy direct from company for many $$ more
- May feel firmer than described
My opinion
I think it’s a bit cheeky to offer a 100 night trial when buying direct from them as opposed to buying on Amazon, as they charge about $400 more for the king size on their website. This is nearly the price of the mattress again so I think you’re better sticking with Amazon. However, the 20 year warranty is longer than most.
6. Zinus Green Tea Memory Foam Mattress – A Familiar And Popular Option
Zinus was launched in 2004, and have been innovating in mattress technology (such as biofoam, foam infusions) ever since. Zinus also make bed frames and sofas. They describe their company as the place where “beds feel like marshmallows”.
- Sizes available: Narrow Twin, Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, Short Queen, King, California King (size availability dependent on the thickness of mattress chosen)
- Feel: Medium, except for the 6 inch, which is very firm. The 12 inch is the softest.
- Composition: available in 6,8,10, or 12 inch: price increases with thickness. This mattress has three layers (the 6 inch has 2 layers): memory foam, comfort foam, and high density support foam. The cover is non removable.
- Certi-PUR US Certified: Yes
- Warranty: 10 years
- Trial period: 30 days from Amazon, 100 nights direct from Zinus (same price on both sites at time of writing)
- Special features: Green tea and charcoal infused foam. The green tea is to keep the mattress fresh, and the charcoal is to wick moisture away.
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes
Pros
- Eight size options
- Affordable price
- People love this mattress
Cons
- Some reports of sagging
- Cover is NOT removable due to fiberglass fire barrier
- Off gassing odor may be stronger than others
My opinion
Most people seem to go for the 10 inch, it is an option that is suitable for most people. It seems to be a good mattress for the price, and there are countless reports of people who are very happy with their mattress several years down the track.
I really like the foam innovations Zinus use in this mattress: you’re getting both Green Tea and Charcoal infusions in an extremely budget friendly mattress here. You don’t usually see features like this until you get towards the $1000 mattress price range.
7. Olee Sleep Gel Infused Memory Foam Mattress – for the budget savvy
Olee is a mattress brand of the company Grantec International. Like the Sweetnight mattress above, Grantec is a Chinese company with a US warehouse it uses to make its US based sales. Grantec has been in business for 34 years.
The Olee mattress is one of the lowest priced mattresses in this review and is a consistent top seller.
- Sizes available: Twin, Full, Queen, King, California King
- Feel: Medium
- Composition: Non removable jacquard cover made of cotton tencel, gel infused memory foam, dura foam, convoluted high density foam (convolutions help heat distribution), high density foam
- CertiPur-US Certified: Yes
- Warranty: 10 years
- Trial period: 30 days
- Special features: n/a
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes
Pros
- Gel foam
- Well liked by other users
- Good price point
Cons
- Non US based company
- Non removable cover due to fiberglass in the fire barrier
My opinion
I think you are getting value for your money with this one. The Olee is one of the cheapest mattresses in the review (you’ll need to visit Amazon for exact pricing), yet it contains gel foam and four different foam layers.
8. Modway Aveline Gel Infused Memory Foam Mattress
LexMod (short for Lexington Modern) is the parent company for the Modway Brand. Modway was established more than 10 years ago. They consider themselves specialists in stocking trending furniture items, and have been featured on television and in magazines such as Dwell. Modway sell hundreds of different pieces of furniture as well as mattresses. Their mattresses are among their most popular items, and the Aveline mattress is their most popular mattress.
- Sizes available: Twin, Full, Queen, King, California King
- Feel: Medium firm, some rate it more firm
- Composition: This mattress contains two inner layers: a gel memory foam comfort layer and a high density foam support layer. Removable cover made from a stretchy knit
- CertiPur-US Certified: Yes
- Warranty: 10 years
- Trial period: 100 nights if buy direct from Lexmod, for the same price, or 30 nights via Amazon (use CJ link)
- Special features? N/a
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes (if Amazon is the seller, not LexMod)
Pros
- Good quality for budget price point
- Removable cover
- You can try it out at a stockist if feeling unsure
Cons
- 100 night sleep trial not available to Amazon customers
- LexMod not particularly responsive to Amazon customers’ questions
My opinion
Unsurprisingly for a mattress known to be firm, a large number of the complaints for this one are because the mattress was too firm. If you like a bit of a softer mattress, you would be better off choosing something like the 12 inch Zinus Green Tea mattress.
9. Sleep Innovations Marley Memory Foam Mattress: made in the USA
Sleep Innovations are a mattress wholesaler (you cannot buy directly from them) that have been in the business of helping people get a good nights sleep for more than 20 years. They have their own sleep lab, and are dedicated to helping people get the most supported sleep they can, without feeling hot, and while increasing REM sleep.
This mattress is made in the USA and has a 10 year warranty, which are massive pros in its favor.
- Sizes available: Twin, Full, Queen, King, California King
- Feel: Medium
- Composition: Three internal layers: a gel memory foam top layer, transition layer with cooling channels, and support foam base layer. It has a soft touch cover.
- CertiPur-US Certified: Yes
- Warranty: 10 years
- Trial period: 30 days
- Special features: Made in the USA
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes
Pros
- Made in the USA
- Long warranty
- Responsive customer care
Cons
- Made in USA but no sleep trial
- Questions over durability at about the 3 year mark
My opinion
I’ve seen some people saying this mattress started to sag at around 3 years of use.
Remember though, you have the safety of the10 year warranty to fall back on, and the company is based in the United States. I think that on the balance of things, when you consider the price, manufacturing, warranty and number of positive customer comments, it works out to be a great sounding mattress.
10. Leesa Universal Adaptive Feel Memory Foam Mattress: the mattress with heart
Leesa is an American owned and manufactured mattress company that started in Virginia Shores. They are socially conscious: they plant a tree for every mattress sold, and donate a mattress for every ten mattresses sold, and volunteer in their local communities. They’ve donated more than 30,000 mattresses at the time of writing this article, which means they are a very popular mattress for people to buy!
- Sizes available: Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King
- Feel: Medium
- Composition: Two comfort layers of memory foam (the top layer is a trademarked, breathable and slightly bouncy foam only found in Leesa mattreses) supported by a high density foam base. Soft cover made of fabric that feels like sweatshirt material.
- CertiPur-US Certified: Yes
- Warranty: 10 years
- Trial period: 100 nights
- Special features: Made in the USA
- Eligible for Amazon Prime? Yes
Pros
- 100 night trial
- Made in the USA
- Innovative foam
- Company with a social conscience
Cons
- No sleep trial despite made in USA
- Durability may be an issue
My opinion
If you’re a stomach sleeper, this probably isn’t a firm enough option for you because the top layers are quite soft. Side and back sleepers could really enjoy the feel of this mattress though. I find the sound of the soft, breathable and slightly bouncy foam layer quite appealing. That, along with the fact the mattress is made in the USA and has a long sleep trial make it sound like a good option.

Not sure memory foam is for you?
While memory foam is a wonderful, supportive sleep surface suitable for virtually every sleeper, some people may prefer the feel of lying on a hybrid mattress that contains springs, or a latex mattress for its bounce and natural material origins. I have written many other reviews of these types of mattresses, and if you are unsure about memory foam some of these mattresses may work for you instead:
