My Comment:
If I were buying this topper for my own bed, I would choose the 2 or 3 inch model. Why? Four inches is actually quite thick, (it might even be thicker than the comfort layers inside the mattress you want to use it on), and you may find it’s too much.
In fact, many of the negative reviews for this topper are for the 4 inch, and they say that it’s just too thick and they sunk into it too much. I believe this a great topper in the thinner sizes. These are your best bet for getting a great balance of softening softening and contouring.

My Comment:
At first glance, this topper from Linenspa looks very similar to the Lucid topper above it. Yes, they’re both gel memory foam with three height options, and their prices aren’t all that different. They’re both designed to add a plush feel to the mattress.
If you take a closer look, you’ll see that this Linenspa topper actually has ventilation holes right through the mattress so this one may do a slightly better job of cooling. If you sleep hot, this one would be my pick of the two. Again, I’d go for the 2 or 3 inch model, the 4 inch is going to feel very thick.
The Best Luxury:
The best luxury mattress topper on Amazon has to be Tempur. One of the most recognizable brands in the foam mattress market, they’re revered for their high quality products. Tempur toppers are made in the USA and have a massive warranty that the cheaper options just can’t offer you.

My Comment:
Tempur is a big step up price wise; it’s a true luxury option. I’ve tested many Tempur products myself and can vouch for the high quality construction of Tempur items. If you’re looking for the best quality foam that has that true memory foam sinking/contouring feel, it’s extremely hard to look past Tempur.
This topper is rated as a medium- firm, but knowing how Tempur foams are built and feel, this should not feel overly firm and will deliver great contouring support.

Latex will give a different feel than a memory foam topper will. Latex is naturally a highly responsive and buoyant material. This means a latex topper will feel a bit more bouncy than a memory foam topper, and will hold you “up” on the mattress rather than giving a cradling hug something like Tempur will. This by no means indicates you’ll get less pressure relief and softness, it’s just a different feeling material that I needed to explain to you.
Natural latex is an expensive material, and I think this Pure Green latex topper is amazing value for money.
The Best Mattress Pad:
Mattress pads are designed to add a layer of softness to the top of a mattress, they won’t provide extra contouring or support like a topper. They won’t add much bulk or extra padding, so are a great option if you’re looking for a touch of softness without majorly interfering with your mattress. At the time of writing, this Utopia mattress pad was the Amazon Canada top seller for mattress pads and mattress toppers.

You can see that this mattress pad does not contain any foams, so you’re not going to get any contouring or pressure relief from it. That’s not what it’s designed to do. It will give a touch of softness through the top of the mattress, so if you like how your mattress performs but just want to soften it up a little, this is going to be a great choice. Another advantage mattress pads offer is that they are machine washable and offer better mattress protection than toppers with their pocket sheet fit.
