Construction

It provides extra support on its own which means that you won’t even feel the mattress beneath it. The two-inch topper is a little softer and while it gives you a cushy feeling, it still relies on the mattress below for support.

If I had to sum up the Turmerry Latex topper in two words, I’d say it’s both green and eco-friendly. The GOLS certified latex topper is made of 100 percent natural latex. All the materials are recyclable, biodegradable, and sourced from sustainable rubber trees. It is also cost effective and comes with a free cover, 60 nights free trial, and a 5-year warranty.

The topper comes in three firmness choices. The first is soft and scores 20 ILD, the second is medium with an average 26 ILD, and the third is Firm with 34 ILD. There’s no extra firm option here, only Plushbeds offer that. It has good user satisfaction with a score of 4.7 stars from 934 users.

Construction

The Turmerry latex topper has only two materials that go into its structure. The first is the natural Dunlop latex. It is GOLS certified which is a testimony to its quality and purity. The other material is organic cotton for the cover. This fabric along with the latex topper are eco-INSTITUT, Oeko-Tex and LGA certified.

This topper too comes in two thickness options. The 2-inch topper is a little softer and more affordable than the 3-inch one. However, even the 3-inch latex topper doesn’t reach the extra firm level that my top recommendation, the PlushBeds Natural Latex Topper, does.

Since the Turmerry latex topper doesn’t come in an extra firm option, one can expect it to offer more cushioning and body contouring than support. The topper is still bouncy and cool as all natural latex toppers are known for. But it’s not really as firm and supportive for heavyweight sleepers as its PlushBed counterpart.

Avocado Organic Latex Topper

Avocado was established in 2016 and has fast become known as one of the top brands in latex beds. It too sources its latex sustainably and cares about the environment. The Avocado organic latex topper has a high user satisfaction scoring 4.6 stars from 2396 users. The topper is handmade in the USA and comes with a one year trial and a 10 year warranty. The latex is GOLS certified and the wool has the GOTS certification.

Construction

The cover of the topper is made of organic cotton and wool. It has the GOTS certification as organic cotton and it’s both comfortable and breathable to promote better air circulation and prevent the heat from getting trapped. The topper itself is made of certified natural latex harvested from rubber trees that the company grows. It comes in two firmness options: medium-soft and firm. Like Turmerry, there is not actually an extra firm option here.

However, it too falls short as it doesn’t come in an extra firm option.
