Best Adjustable Bed Canada – you’re lucky to have a competitive market in Canada for adjustable beds. This means you can get a great quality base with awesome features for a great price. I know it can be difficult trying to sort through them all and find the best one, so I’ve narrowed down a top three (including one VERY clear winner).

I actually own an adjustable bed myself, which I bought online and am very happy with, so I’ll walk you through how that process went, and tell you which base is the most similar one to the one I bought (I’m in New Zealand) and what you can expect from your new adjustable base. We’ll also cover all your questions about adjustable bed bases, making this the only guide you need. Let’s dive straight in!

The Best Adjustable Bed In Canada Is Puffy!

Best Adjustable Bed Canada Is Puffy

The Puffy adjustable base is EASILY the best adjustable bed in Canada. Not only is incredible value for money for the features you’d expect, it’s got things that edge it above other models like a higher weight capacity, a sleep trial, and a lifetime warranty.

There’s a lot to love here, and I really struggled to come up with any negatives about this base.

  • Free delivery with simple setup: you unfold the base and attach the legs yourself – most of the assembly has been done for you before it arrives
  • Great warranty: limited lifetime
  • Sleep trial: 101 nights
  • Size options: Twin XL, Full, Queen, Split King
  • Legs: 6 legs per base. You’ve got 4 height settings to choose from: 6.5″, 8.5″, 9.5″ or 11.5″. Some other brands come with fixed legs and charge you extra for other heights, so this is a good value inclusion from Puffy
  • Weight capacity: up to 800lb (400lb per base) – biggest weight capacity in Canada
  • 4 USB Ports: 2 on each side of the base
  • Massage function: variety of modes and a timer you can set for 10, 20 or 30 minutes. Choose head, foot, or full body
  • Soft white LED lighting which you can activate from the remote
  • Black bar at bottom edge to hold your mattress in place

What Real Canadian Customers Are Saying About Their Puffy Adjustable Base:

“We love it. It’s very responsive and sturdy.”

“We did a lot of research before we chose Puffy, and we’re so glad we did. We’re happy with the quality and the massage features help us get to sleep”

“It was easy to assemble following the simple instructions. It makes our Puffy mattresses even more comfortable, and it’s easy to change the sheets by simply lifting the head or foot of the base as you go!”

“By using the combination of the zero gravity position and the massage features, my pain points have disappeared and I feel much better rested.”

Best Adjustable Bed Canada -Honorable Mentions

If you still want to explore the best of the rest, these two bases are your best alternatives in the Canadian market:

1. GhostBed Canada Adjustable Bed Base

Best Adjustable Bed Canada - GhostBed Base

GhostBed deserves the first honourable mention because it represents amazing value for money and top notch quality. GhostBed have been in the business of making beds for more than 20 years so they certainly know their stuff.

They lost out to Puffy for the title of best in Canada simply for the facts that adjustable legs are not included, nor is a sleep trial. The weight tolerance is a bit lower, too.

  • Free delivery with simple setup: you unfold the base and attach the legs yourself – most of the assembly has been done for you before it arrives
  • Great warranty: limited lifetime
  • Size options: Twin XL, Queen, Split King (exactly what you need: Twin XL is my recommendation for one person, a Split King for two (this is the same as 2x Twin XL), or Queen if you can’t decide
  • Legs: 6 legs per base, 12 inch height. The legs are not adjustable but you can buy 6 inch height legs instead as a separate accessory (recommended: many reviewers found this to be the one sticking point – they said they needed shorter legs on the base)
  • Weight capacity: up to 750lb
  • 4 USB Ports
  • Massage function: 15 different massage modes, including the ability to set the timer for 10, 20 or 30 minutes, much like Puffy above. Choose head, foot, or full body. This base has the best massage function of any base on the market.
  • LED lighting under the base which you can activate from the remote
  • Black bar at bottom edge to hold your mattress in place

Before I move on to Podium Bed, I want to take a minute to talk about the massage features on the GhostBed adjustable base. I think the GhostBed base outperforms all other bases in this aspect, so if massage is important to you, get this base.

My own adjustable base has massage features, and my pro insider tip to you is to use your adjustable base with a mattress no more than 12 inches thick so you can really feel the vibrations of the base through your mattress (my mattress is 14 inches, which is too high for an adjustable bed anyway really, and it’s too thick to really feel the massage features)

Another pro insider tip for using massage on an adjustable base is to listen to something through headphones because the vibrations on ALL adjustable bases is pretty noisy.

2. Podium Adjustable Bed Base

Podium Adjustable Bed Base Canada

Podium gets an honorable mention for being a good budget choice, and being Canadian owned. It’s lacking some of the features of Puffy or GhostBed (it’s got less warranty, lower weight capacity, no sleep trial, less massage options) but it’s significantly cheaper, still has full body massage settings AND has adjustable legs.

This Canadian bed is absolutely worth a look, and if budget and no frills function are your top priorities, this is the best adjustable base in Canada for you.

  • Delivery is generally free, but fees will apply to some remote areas
  • 10 Year limited warranty
  • Size options: Twin XL, Full, Queen, Split King
  • Legs: 6 legs per base, legs are adjustable to 7″, 10″, or 13″
  • Weight capacity: up to 650lb
  • 4 USB Ports
  • Remote is simpler than Puffy or GhostBed
  • Massage function: full body massage only
  • LED lighting under the base which you can activate from the remote
  • Silver bar at bottom edge to hold your mattress in place

Adjustable Bed FAQ

What Is The Best Split King Bed In Canada?

Just as I recommend Puffy as my top choice for adjustable beds in general, their split king model is also my top choice.
With the high weight capacity, sleep trial (especially important for a split bed to allow you a chance to see if it’s really right for your needs) and adjustable legs there are a lot of features to love, good quality, and all for a surprisingly low price.

Do Doctors Recommend Adjustable Beds?

Yes:
1. Spine-health.com advises that they can help people with certain back positions, as sleeping with either legs or upper body on an incline can offer better support for sore points.
2. Bluesky Health Care advises that using an adjustable bed can help your circulation and relieve reflux.
3. Adjustable beds can help with independence too, because you don’t have to get up from lying flat on your back.

What Should I Know Before Buying An Adjustable Bed?

1. The most important thing is what do you want from it? If you know you want a basic bed that just goes up and down at the ends but not much else, you can save money and buy a more basic model, like Podium Bed. If you want massage features and extra bells and whistles, you’ll be better with something like GhostBed.
2. Check the weight capacity of the base. Remember, the weight capacity needs to account for the weight of the user AND the mattress, so check it’s good for at least 750lb. This is information I include in all my adjustable base articles.
3. Does it have adjustable legs? You may want to change the height of your base, and only a model with adjustable legs will allow you to do this.

What Are The Disadvantages Of An Adjustable Bed?

To be honest, there really aren’t many.
-The motors make sound, but preset memory buttons minimize the length of time the motors run for.
-Some people may not like the look of the simple base, but they generally fit into other bed frames, so you can suit your own style
-Some people wonder how they’re going to keep a split king model together, I’ve got solutions here https://bestmattressforyou.com/how-to-keep-split-king-mattresses-together

How Long Will An Adjustable Bed Last?

As long as you keep to the weight tolerance of the motors and generally look after your adjustable bed, you will get at least the length of your warranty out of it. Depending on the model you buy, this will be 10 years – limited lifetime.
